Ring binders, also termed loose leaf binders or folders, are offered by us in PVC or polypropylene, in A4, A5, A6, or other special sizes. We make and stock presentation binders in PVC, polypropylene binders in frosted clear, and can produce you all sorts of printed or special binders.

Our PVC ring binders are manufactured from flexible PVC sheeting over board stiffener, welded around the edges with rounded corners and spine welds for easy folding. Plated steel mechanisms (generally 2 or 4 ring but 3 ring available) are riveted through the rear cover ('D' shaped rings) or spine (round rings) using two or three rivets according to the size of the mechanism. All binders are well packed for transit.

For general interest, PVC's starting materials are derived from 43% oil and 57% salt!

Our polypropylene binders are cut and creased from 800 micron or 1200 micron sheeting. We are gradually adding a stock range as well as producing specials.

Stock Binders  -  PVC Presentation Binders (White)

The type of ring binders which we manufacture for stock are commonly known as 'Presentation' binders. These have pockets on the front and spine which are open at the top for you to insert title sheets. This enables you to personalise your own binders at fairly low cost, and you will be delighted to know that our stock presentation binders have a clear PVC diagonal corner pocket (approx. 200 x 150mm) as standard inside the front cover, something that most manufacturers offer only as an extra. We found that we were having to make so many otherwise standard binders as specials in order to include a pocket for customers to put their 'odd bits and pieces' in, that we thought the sensible thing was to incorporate this as standard!

We keep the following sizes available for A4 paper: 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, 35mm, 40mm, 50mm, and 65mm. These sizes all relate to the trade size of the ring inside the binder not the spine width. All presentation binders have 'D' shaped mechanisms fitted inside the rear cover, and we can rivet in 2 ring, 3 ring or 4 ring types to suit your requirements. Although our stock binder colour is white (a nice clean bright white, not 'bright grey' !), we do have other colours available at times, and can produce them in up to about 40 colours for just a little extra on the price.

The order reference is the number of 'D' rings plus the ring size,
e.g. 4D 25mm.

Frosted Clear Polypropylene Ring Binders

We are in the process of introducing a range of stock frosted polypropylene ring binders, in a number of sizes and capacities, in 800 and 1200 micron material. The first of these, for sheet size A4+, A5+ and A6+ (see below), are available now, in 800 micron or 1200 micron PP, as shown in the list. These can be supplied plain or screen printed to order. They are not presentation binders (there are no pockets on the front or spine).

Please note that, unlike some of the polypropylene ring binders on the market, this range, (with exception of our 16mm ring 'Postbuster' type*) is being sized so that standard divider sets or punched pockets will fit inside the covers of their respective ring binders. Please note that our A6 polypropylene binders are available in two cover widths, for use with or without pockets - see listing.

*Our 16mm round ring frosted polypropylene 'Postbuster' binders do not take punched pockets but are wide enough for tabbed dividers. This binder size is specifically designed to fit into the British Royal Mail 'Large Letter' category - as long as you pack it cleverly. The binder size is 312x244x22mm externally, which you need to wrap so that it does not exceed 353x250x25mm for 'Large Letter' rate. The 2 ring version weighs less than 150g so, if you don't have too many sheets inside, you can post within the 250g band, at just over half the cost of the 'Packet' rate.
Warning: Packing the binder with no protection to stop it being crushed may lead to some being damaged in the post (particularly the ring mechanism), but you can't have it both ways. It would work out cheaper for you to send out another binder, should the odd one or two be trodden on in transit, than pay the 'Packet' rate on all your mailings.

A3 Stock Polypropylene Binders (Unprinted)

All take tabs/punched pockets. 'D' shaped mechanisms are inside the rear cover.

These binders are large enough to take our WGP/A3 punched pockets.

A3 paper size is 420mm high x 297mm wide.
Unfortunately, we cannot produce this product in landscape format.

** 2D ring prices are the same as 4D ring, as we do not wish to encourage the use of just two rings with this size of paper.

Printed/Special PVC Binders

A large part of our business is the production of customised ring binders, often in fairly small quantities. Although some of the small quantity binder work has been lost to the 'presentation binder' idea, more and more customers seem to be returning to a custom made product, both for company catalogues and for instruction manuals that complement technical equipment.

We can produce screen printed PVC binders (many PVC colours available), or incorporate your litho printed sheets under clear PVC on the outside of binders. Effectively this is an up-market version of the presentation binder, but with the printed sheets (which need to be to specific sizes) sealed in completely during the manufacturing process, making a superb looking product where the prints are seen to fit.

As a point of helpfulness, please ask us for the positions of rivet heads (that hold in the mechanisms) when designing artwork for spines (when using round rings) or rear covers (when using 'D' shaped rings), so as to avoid the possibility of printed matter conflicting with rivet positions.

Specially produced binders can incorporate extra pockets, if required, and their customised nature ensures that your company image stays with the binder, unlike presentation binders where your printed sheets are easily discarded! Please ask for a quotation - quality and your own individual image might not be as expensive as you imagine.

Clear PVC pockets for sheet size A6 (open top)

For A6 (148x105mm) paper, 2 holes in margin to fit 2 ring binders (holes at 8cm centres).

Clear PVC pockets for oversize A4

This product is manufactured in 180 micron clear PVC to make a very tough pocket, diagonally cut away at the top for easy access, in order to present a magazine, folded drawings, or bundle of paperwork in each pocket within a ring binder (fits 2 or 4 ring).

The overall size of the pocket is 310 x 238mm, so you need to use ring binders with a sufficiently generous cover width. Our standard 4D ring 25mm, 35mm, 50mm and 55mm A4 ring binders will accommodate these pockets.

PUNCHED POLYPROPYLENE POCKETS

Punched polypropylene pockets are much thinner than PVC ones and are copy safe. We generally stock these for our common paper sizes of A5 (portrait), A4 and A3 (portrait or landscape), A2 (landscape), as well as American Quarto paper size, which is 11" x 8.5" and sometimes known as American letter size. These are less readily available from other sources.

All fit 2, 3 or 4 ring mechanisms, except the oversize A4, A5 and A4 landscape pockets (2 or 4 ring only), and are portrait format (top open) unless otherwise stated.

All are manufactured in orange peel polyprop unless otherwise stated.

These pockets are good quality and are European made.

Another very useful polypropylene pocket that we offer holds a CD on the rings of a 2 or 4 ring binder.

Punched pocket (with flap) for one CD

Fits standard 2 ring or 4 ring (uses two of the rings) ring binders as an economic way of incorporating a CD with the contents. Manufactured from 170 micron orange peel polypropylene, takes CD only, not moulded case.
